Water Management of River Beaches—A Portuguese Case Study

The quality of water is crucial for the qualification river beaches. Cávado River watershed (Northern Portugal) contains five beaches with a regular and specific mandatory monitorization. main subject this research evaluation spatial temporal microbiological physicochemical parameters to assess improvement consequently management. results monitoring surface water, considering from (2015/19), three points along (2018/19) were considered. located upstream town Braga has an “excellent” “good” quality, while beach downstream shows lower quality. indicated that there progressive degradation river, which associated influence domestic industrial activities.
